I saw that the unemployment rate dropped to 9.0% in October. Down from 9.1% in September. And I hear this is good. That is some slow, slooooow growth. I mean its better than going the other way, but does Obama have a chance if this growth doesn't speed up? 50/50 chance? Especially since not a single Republican will give him any credit for his foreign policy.

If it continues to drop on a consistent basis, I think he has a real good chance. No reasonable person could possible think this administration (regardless of president) could have avoided significant economic trouble after what happend at the end of 2008. If the rate reverses, he doesnt have much of a chance. And the more the employment rate drops, the more people will focus on other things such foreign policy where Obama will shine.

People should remember that when Obama took office, the unemployment rate was at 7.8%. I believe the last number release for November 2011 was 8.4%. So yes, if it continues to drop, I think it will be hard for anybody to beat Obama.
